Joe's practice focuses on general corporate and business law, including corporate formations, technology licensing, mergers and acquisitions, venture capital financings and corporate governance. He also has significant experience in cross-border transactions, as well as advising multinationals on corporate formation, licensing, and labor issues in China.

Prior to joining M&H, Joe was an associate in the China Practice Group of Baker & McKenzie, initially in Shanghai and Hong Kong, and more recently in Palo Alto.

Joe holds a B.A. and an M.A. in Asian Studies, and a B.A. in Political Science from UC Berkeley, as well as a J.D. from the UCLA School of Law. He is fluent in both Mandarin Chinese and Japanese.
